McDonough Student Body Government
About
The McDonough Student Body Government (MSBG) is the official representation of the McDonough undergraduate student body to the Undergraduate Dean’s Office and faculty. This student group is made up of 12 representatives (three from each class). MSBG strives to strengthen student relations with the faculty and administration and promote positive interaction. The group hosts events annually, including the Welcome Back BBQ, Holiday Party, and Senior Sendoff. In addition, MSBG partners with local organizations for community service opportunities. Each council nominee must attend an information session at the beginning of the fall semester.

For more information, please email the Undergraduate Programs Office or email the Student Body Government.
Our Initiatives
Free Coffee in Shea Commons
Need a caffeine boost? The MSBG’s Wellness Committee has you covered! This semester, we launched a free coffee pilot program to give students a much-needed pick-me-up in undergraduate commons. We listened when you asked for better food and drink options in Hariri—and we delivered. Stop by Shea Commons to enjoy a cup on us!
Service Week (Coming Soon!)
We’re planning something special to give back to the D.C. community! Service Week will feature a lineup of impactful events on campus, culminating in a hands-on service day at our partner organization’s location—complete with free transportation. Together, let’s make a difference while strengthening our bonds as a community.
MSBGives Our Service Initiative
MSBG is proud to introduce MSBGives, our new service initiative! We’ve partnered with several DC non-profits, starting with Bread for the City, where we’ll be packing 1,000 care packages. Anyone in the MSB is welcome to join! We’ve also partnered with Martha’s Table and Habitat for Humanity for in-person service opportunities:
Martha’s Table: Friday, March 28th | 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM
Habitat for Humanity: Friday, April 11th | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Don’t miss out—sign up today!
Senior Send-Off
MSBG is thrilled to honor our seniors with a farewell to remember! We’re reviving the MSBG Senior Send-Off, a beloved tradition to cap off our seniors’ Georgetown experience in a big way. This celebration will take place on April 11th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at The Winery at Bull Run, with optional vineyard tours available. Registration begins at 4:00 PM, and buses will depart at 5:00 PM. Join us for an evening of celebration, reflection, and fun as we toast to the memories made and the exciting journeys ahead. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
MSBGuide: Your Path to Finding Your Place at MSB
Feeling overwhelmed or unsure about where you fit in at the MSB? MSBGuide is here to help! This new mentorship program connects first-year students with upperclassmen who’ve been in your shoes. It’s not just about career advice—it’s about finding your community and learning how to navigate life at Georgetown. Weekly dinners (on or off campus) make it easy to connect and have meaningful conversations in a relaxed setting. MSBGuide is your chance to feel supported, inspired, and part of something bigger.
